This is me. I work 10 hours a week in the office at our church, but other than that I am a stay at home mom. (for now at least). I am a sinner saved by grace. What does that mean? I MESS UP! Big time, mess ups, small mess ups, but I mess up, I sin. And I have the privilege of coming to God, having Him wipe the slate clean. And when I start again, it is not me starting again, it is me starting for the first time, BECAUSE OF WHAT HE DID!

Food Festival part 6

Somewhere along this side of the marquee there was a whisky stall, I don't like whisky, so didn't try any, but I did try some local beer. I'm not a beer drinker, and this was definitely a BITTER! I did, however let the boys each have a sip. OK, so they're 12 and 15 so sue me! They both said they quite liked it. I think it's good to have a healthy attitude to alcohol around the kids, and even teaching them what is good and what isn't good.

After the beer was my FAVOURITE stall. I've seen this stall at the food festivals before and I love it. I love their products, I love the designs on their labels and I love the ethos of what they do.
Ambalama Spices
The company was founded to help the tsunami damaged areas of Sri Lanka by promoting trade and tourism in the region. They buy direct from the growers on an ethical basis and pay a fair price for the highest grade spices - certified free from any dyes or additives.
They sell a whole range of individual spices, spice blends, meal mixes and dip mixes. We bought from here too!

Next was the vegetarian foods stall.
Thank Goodness.
These are a luxury product with various varieties, I love the mushroom and cashew nut one, but they are all delicious.
Eldest son doesn't like nut roast so he didn't have any, but youngest tried both nut roast and vegetarian sausages.

NEXT comes the absolutely best stall in the marquee, (GRIN) the lovely puddings lady. The most delicious samples of fruit fools, lemon posset and chocolate desserts. HEAVENLY!
And the friendliest stall holder of the lot, HELLO Catherine!!!!!!!!!
Pots of Deliciousness offer individual desserts in beautiful glass pots that you can use in your kitchen when you are finished. Catherine uses local cream, local fruits and only the best quality chocolate. I tasted (& bought for later, heehee) the lemon posset. If you've read my blog for a while you will know that on a previous visit to the Mytton and Mermaid (not my most recent visit however), I had lemon posset for the first time. THIS was easily AS GOOD AS the one I had at the Mytton and Mermaid.

My boys had the rhubarb flavoured dessert and I think maybe raspberry, I know it was a darker red than the pink of the rhubarb. They both really enjoyed their tasters, but it was mothers day on Sunday, NOT children's day, so I didn't buy them one to bring home.

Join me later for the final post about the food festival, and then finally a post about what we bought and what we did with it!
